This is a speculative vision on the future of healthcare - a distributed healthcare system where instead care comes to you – delivered by autonomous vehicles. The COVID-19 pandemic has ruthlessly exposed many long-standing short falls in healthcare across the globe. Health systems fail to react effectively to the crisis and the need for a new approach to care is evident.

This speculative design piece functions as a provocation to current models of care delivery in our healthcare systems. It aims to create necessary discourse amongst key industry players, to shift perspectives and entertain the possibility of new care models.

Through five vignettes of future care delivery, we challenge how the construct of healthcare could fundamentally change if ‘travelling’ was no longer required. We unfold not only the functional and experiential aspects of care, but also how our relationship with healthcare evolves through mindset shifts in society.
