NUS INDUSTRIAL DESIGN - gradSHOW 2015
Academic project at nus - division of industrial design (2015)
My team was tasked to design the set-up of our graduation exhibition at the National Design Centre (NDC);
to accommodate the works of 38 graduating students. The challenge was to design a set of structures that could effectively communicate and complement the students works; of varying sizes and disciplines (i.e. product, furniture, service, fashion, interaction design, etc.).

The final design was inspired by the concept of 'framing' and the use of glass vitrines we often see in museum exhibits. The resulting was two clean geometric exhibition structures;
Structure A : a box-shaped 'vitrine' that accommodates 4 small-medium works each.
Structure B : a simple flat table with a bold black frame for a pair of big projects each.
Respecting the purity of the space, only the necessary elements used in framing the 'content' were highlighted in crisp black lines, while everything else was kept white in unison with the rest of the building's interior. As such, we deliberately painted to structure legs white to blend them into their surroundings. The result is an added lightness to the design, that makes the structures almost seem like the structures are floating in mid air.
